Annotation:
A joint workshop of the Environmental Humanities Prague research group at the Institute of History, Faculty of Arts, Charles University, and the Leibniz Institute for the History and Culture of Eastern Europe (GWZO) in Leipzig will bring together researchers working on projects in the field of environmental humanities. Participants will first briefly present their current research projects, followed by an open discussion. Topics include, for example, the history of human–animal relations in the context of Russia’s war against Ukraine, historicisation and sustainability, transformations of the Šumava borderlands resulting from the construction of the Iron Curtain, writing animal histories, and the study of the spatiotemporal relations and environmental materialities of the Druzhba pipeline.
